CWRU libraries upgrade to a new library services platform and discovery system

After a significant collaborative effort, the CWRU libraries and OhioLINK academic library consortium are celebrating the successful transition to a new, modernized search platform. The upgrade is designed to make discovering and accessing library resources for learning, research, and teaching more intuitive and efficient.

Action Needed: Please review links to resources in syllabi, reading lists, and course materials.

Explore Curated AI Resources and New Tools

Research databases and other subscription-based and library-licensed tools are increasingly adding AI components and features to their platforms. KSL has compiled new developments and campus resources that may aid in your research and teaching.

View the AI Guide and check out our new AI Literacy Canvas module in our Instruction Hub.

For example, Scite.ai is a tool that helps evaluate the credibility and impact of research articles. It uses artificial intelligence to analyze citation contexts, identifying whether a paper has been supported, contradicted, or simply mentioned by subsequent research. This helps users quickly understand the quality and relevance of research literature, facilitating more informed decision-making in research and academic writing.

Learn more about the research assistant, Scite.ai.

CWRU recommends all researchers sign up for an ORCID iD to distinguish themselves from other researchers, manage their online scholarly identity, and meet funding and publishing requirements.

To sign up and learn more about the advantages, visit the library’s ORCID Guide, or contact your Research Librarian for personalized support.

Confirm how to list your CWRU affiliation in publications, which helps the university receive proper credit in global rankings.

Understanding and complying with public access sharing requirements is crucial for faculty who receive federal funding for their research. These requirements, driven by a 2022 White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) memorandum, are designed to ensure that the results of federally funded research are made immediately and freely available to the public without an embargo period.
